I liked that when Groot gave Rocket a flower to remember him by, there was an ulterior motive behind it. I originally thought it would only play in the first two episodes and then later on in the season, but apparently it could be referenced episode after episode. The subplot of the Cosmic Seed continues, as The Collector would like to add it to his collection. He is hung up on a joke about a toaster being able to do his job. Rocket has a fragile ego that needs affirmation. His rough exterior is hiding how much he wants to be liked and needed. Call it “structured chaos.”Ī grumpy Rocket makes for an entertaining Rocket. As much as the team fights among themselves, they are still able to function as a team. The opening sequence of the team fleeing from Fin Fang Foom encompassed everything that is lovable about the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, The Collector has something up his sleeve. When The Collector offers to take Rocket on, it’s a proposition that he cannot pass up. As the Guardians of the Galaxy are being chased by a large flying dragon (Fin Fang Foom perhaps?), Rocket is starting to feel like his talents are not being appreciated.
